Hero’s API with SiteMinder enables travel agents to make ‘live’ bookings with you, direct into your Property Management System. This page outlines the process for connecting your property to Hero with SiteMinder.
Before we get started:
Please email [email protected] and advise:
Your list of room types that you want us to add to Hero.
Advise if you are happy for rooms to be sold open-dated (non-live, like a Gift Voucher) as well as dated (live, via SiteMinder).
If you do allow open-dated sales, please advise the static rates that we should set for each room type for each Season.
Then...
Our team will build your listings in Hero and then...
Hero will provide you with a ‘hotel code’ for your property.
Within SiteMinder, add Hero as an OTA/Channel using the hotel code
Click CHANNELS
Click Connect New Channel in the upper-right of The Channel Manager
Complete the five steps in the Channel Connection Wizard.
Channel Selection – Select ‘Hero Travel’ from the Connect to Channel drop down list
Channel Settings – Enter the required channels settings. Channel Settings may differ from channel to channel
Currency – By default The Channel Manager will send rates using your Hotels Base Currency. Leave this as-is.
Rate Multiplier (Optional) – Only enter a value here if the channel requires rate modification to handle tax/commissions. For more info see: About Rate Multipliers
Summary – Review the details you have entered and click FinishNote: Click the info icons, if you need help throughout the Connection WizardNote: All rates to be supplied to Hero via SiteMinder must be gross (RRP)
The channel will now appear as “Awaiting Setup” and you will receive a confirmation email from the support team confirming that your connection is being reviewed.
Once the connection is activated, you will be notified by SiteMinder, and you can commence mapping your Room Rates to the Hero channel.
Once mapped, please advise Hero, so we complete the process and Agents can begin booking with you again!
Important note…
Once SiteMinder is connected, Hero will display your ‘live’ rates for all future-dated bookings. However, within Hero you will still need to set rates and seasons for any open-dated bookings made. More info...
