Understanding Credit Card Fees for Hero Payments
Understanding Credit Card Fees for Hero Payments
Updated over a week ago

Subject to approval, Hero provides Agents with the functionality to charge their customers using Hero's merchant facility, via eQuote (online), integrated Square Terminal (point-of-sale) and Hero's booking widget (online).

Credit card fees apply and these are priced using two calculations:

  1. Hero Payments Fee

    1. Paid by Agency to Hero for payments via Hero Payments

    2. Applied to the RRP + Customer Credit Card Fee

    3. This figure is set by Hero as per your Agency Agreement with Hero

  2. Customer Credit Card Fee

    1. Paid by Customer to Agent for payments via Agent Merchant Facility

    2. Applied to the RRP

    3. This figure is set by You within your Company Setup.

Important note:

The two fees above are not applied to the same value, i.e. Customers pay a fee based on the total value of the Booking, while Hero charges you based on the total amount the customer pays, including the booking and credit card surcharge.

So, for the Customer Credit Card Fee to match the Hero Payment Fee, you must set the Customer Credit Card Fee as:

Hero Payments Fee (i.e. 3.5%) + Hero Payments Fee (i.e. 3.5%)
= Customer Credit Card Fee (i.e. 3.62%).
