Add-ons and Forced Add-ons

Add-ons and Forced-addons

Updated over 7 months ago

This article explains how to make use of add-ons in Hero. The main difference between the two types of add-ons is that one is 'optional' and the other one is 'forced'. For example, if your customers can add on photos/videos to their skydive, this is set up in Hero as an optional extra. However, if you are selling an overnight boat tour where customers need to make a decision on which roomtype they would like to book, it is advised to create a Forced-addon.

How do I set up optional Add-ons?
Navigate to the Branch Setup - Add-ons & Levies page.

Click on +Add Add-on on the top right hand side of your screen and name your add-on.

Next, go to the Pricing - Edit Page. Select a season and the product that you would like to add the add-on to.

Check the pricing summary to make sure the rate and commission is all set up correctly.

How do I set up Forced Add-ons?
If your product needs to be booked with an add-on, you will need to flick the 'Force Add-on Selection' button on. This will ensure that the agent books your product with the necessary add-on.

The agent can view the prices of add-ons, their availability and book them by clicking one of the options in the drop down, as shown below:
